STRONG INTEREST INVENTORY®

Finding Your Career Path

The Strong Interest Inventory® is by far the most effective tool that equips people to make career and educational choices that fit their unique preferences. People often inuitively know who they are and what they want to do.  This tool reinforces and gives language to those natural interests and motivations.  The Strong Interest Inventory® gives people the opportunity to clarify their career options and communicate their preferences to others.

With nearly 100 years of scientific research, the SII® is the most widely used and scientifically valid and reliable assessment for making education and career choices, for adults and students at a high school or college level.

The Strong Interest Inventory® was first introduced in 1927 by Stanford psychologist E. K. Strong, Jr.  In addition to continuous research and updating, in 1974, John Holland built upon the foundation, by incorporating his psychology-based codes.  The SII® we use today operates under four major assumptions:

Most people's interests can be categorized into six major Themes.

Job environemnts can be characterzied by the same six Themes, or combination thereof.

People seek environments that allow them to utilize their skills, express their values, and embrace projects they feel are both stimulating and satisfying.

Job performance and satisfaction are the result of the interaction between personality and work environment.

The SII® is a tool that will help you today and at various stages throughout your life.
